Romper – Caroline Shannon-Karasik
Who would have thought the 5Ws and one H of middle school would come in handy as you navigate this thing called parenting? Not this mama. But the truth is, the who, what, where, when, why, and how of your youth simply cannot better define the onslaught of questions that come from the moment you become a parent. Things like, how do I get my baby to sleep? Or is there a wrong time to introduce solids? Hmmm, could be an interesting story, I thought, but really, my motives in responding were a bit more self-serving. See, I’ve got 2½-year-old twins, and they are eating machines, until they aren’t. They eat pretty well for the most part, but I admit to falling into the mac and cheese and pizza cycle some. It’s better if it’s smoked Gouda mac and cheese, right? They’re practically little gourmands…Needless to say, I’m always looking for guidance when it comes to feeding my kiddos healthy meals and also introducing them to veggies (they are avid fruit lovers) and just new foods in general.
