While heating up a meal in the microwave can be a quick and easy way to get dinner on the table, the American Academy of Pediatrics has issued a stark warning about the potential consequences. Hard plastic containers are often made using chemicals called bisphenols, which can act like estrogen in the body, potentially changing the timing of puberty, decreasing fertility and increasing body fat.
