A child brings joy into our lives and completes us as human beings. As you see your child grow each day, you are sure to find some differences between your child’s abilities and another. However, there are milestones that every child should ideally achieve before they turn five. Most of the children do so without any problems. For those that don’t, it shouldn’t be a cause for alarm.

Look, as parents, one of the biggest struggles many of us face is getting our kids to do the things we KNOW they need to do, but they don’t want to do. Kids need sleep, right? Try telling a 2-year old that. Everyone needs to eat lots of fruit and vegetables! But plenty of kids look at broccoli like it’s their sworn enemy. Even when it comes to something as simple as drinking water, it can be a constant battle! Our bodies are made up of 60% water, we literally need it to live.

So how do we show our children to be patient until their time comes, especially since it seems like many folks weren’t taught that lesson when they were children these days?

In our increasingly connected world, children are spending less time outside in favour of being hunched over technology. In fact, a new report from Sport England has found over half of children in England don’t get enough exercise, with just 46.8% of children now getting the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity per day on average. Even though the figure is up 3.6% from last year, it’s clear there are still many children not moving their bodies enough, and missing out on experiencing the mental and physical benefits of exercise.
