Obesity rates in children skyrocketed 10 times higher than before the pandemic, a new study finds. As such, while researchers expected there to be an increase in weight and BMI as a result of being home and having more screentime, what they anticipated was something akin to what is seen during summer break. Instead, pandemic rates of weight gain in kids completely dwarfed those statistics, raising cause for concern.
