Study identifies the personality traits of teenagers addicted to video games

Gaming disorder (GD) is included in the latest edition of the WHO’s International Classification of Diseases, from 2018. In that year alone, the growth in the use of video games in Spain was 6.2 percent. In this context, the TXP research group of the CEU Cardenal Herrera University (CEU UCH) of Castellón, led by professor Gonzalo Haro, began a study to detect the teenage personality traits that predispose the youth to videogame addiction, comparing it to substance addiction.

Sunshine may shield children, young adults from MS

Living in sunny locations and spending time outdoors may raise the risk for skin cancer, but a new study led by UC San Francisco and the Australian National University shows that in children and young adults, sun exposure may protect against multiple sclerosis. The study follows previous work by other researchers that has demonstrated an association between increased ultraviolet exposure in childhood and lower odds of adult MS.
