4 Your Health: keeping children safe over summer break

Pediatric experts have some advice about keeping your children safe for what’s left of their break from school. If you take your little one to the playground be sure it has well maintained equipment with no exposed nails, bolt ends, or open ‘S’ hooks. Swing seats should be made of soft materials, like rubber, plastic or canvas. And remember that plastic and metal can get very hot in the summer, so be sure slides are cool before your kids go down.
