Parents try to balance the responsibilities they give their kids based upon how old they are. By seven years old, there is quite a bit that kids can do. But because they are still seen as little kids at times, they may not always be given the types of responsibilities they are capable of doing. If this age group is encouraged and given responsibilities that match their abilities, they will not only excel at them but work on becoming more independent in the process. The problem lies in knowing which responsibilities are age-appropriate for seven-year-olds.
