All children will experience some level of anxiety during their childhood. It’s a normal part of the development and can usually be overcome, and doesn’t always turn into a lifelong issue. Separation anxiety can appear in babies and continue into the toddler years. Think of babies being left at daycare and getting dropped off at preschool crying. These worries stem from being separated from their parents or caregivers. It’s also normal for young children to have fears that cause them anxiety such as thunderstorms, loud noises, the dark, being alone, strangers, etc.
