The study, published in June, was led by Dr. Faith Orchard at the University of Reading in England. Researchers looked at 4,790 teenagers born between 1991 and 1994 who were asked to self-report on sleep quality and quantity. Data was collected at age 15, and then again at ages 17, 21 and 24. They were compared to a control group of teenagers who slept an average of 8 hours on school nights and around 9.5 hours on weekend nights.
