Storytelling Reduces Pain & Stress In Children, Study Finds

A new study has found that storytelling may have healing powers, but at the very least it is reducing pain and stress in children who are in the hospital. Books and reading have always been beneficial for children. It has helped them gain a love of reading, helped introduce them to language, and has helped them learn to read. It can even be calming for a child when a story is read before bed each night. However, reading and hearing stories may have even more benefits than originally thought, and it could be used as a therapeutic tool for children who are currently in the hospital or going through a hard time.
