A new study has found that talking about the past with children can help their mental health when they become teenagers. When mom sits and thinks back on her life, there are likely memories that she is not too proud of, and would never want her children to find out. She would be mortified and would be certain that it would forever change how they viewed her. However, there are also memories that can be called ‘core memories,’ and these are special moments that happen in our lives that helped to shape who we have become. These moments may be worth sharing.
